The club’s story begins in the 1970s, when organised ice hockey was taking root in Luxembourg. The Patinoire de Kockelscheuer opened in November 1974, giving the Grand Duchy its first major indoor ice rink, and it was here that Hiversport Luxembourg established its ice hockey team, also known as HC Luxembourg.
Hiversport Hockey was established in January 1976. Over the five decades since, the club has grown from a single team playing in the earliest years of organised Luxembourg ice hockey into the Grand Duchy's primary youth development pathway for the sport.
Huskies is a non-profit association (ASBL) registered under Luxembourg law, governed by a volunteer board and dedicated to providing structured, professional, and inclusive ice hockey development for children and young people from age 4 upwards.
The club today fields teams across every stage of the player journey: the Huskies Initiation Pool (EDH and U5 to U9), introducing children to the sport in a fun and welcoming environment; the Huskies Development Pool (U11 to U14), building competitive skills withing a structured programme; the Foxes Competition Pool (U15 to U18), where players compete at a higher level and are challenged to reach their potential; and the Foxes Senior Bridge Team, providing a pathway from junior to senior hockey.
Our teams compete in both the French national hockey league (Fédération Française de Hockey sur Glace – Zone Nord-Est) and the Belgian league (Royal Belgian Ice Hockey Federation). Several Huskies and Foxes players have gone on to represent Luxembourg's national teams at IIHF World Championship level, as well as many of our alumni.
