The U11 & U13 International Ice Hockey Tournament was held on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April at the Kockelsheuer ice skating rink in a bright, friendly and sporty atmosphere.
Twelve teams of very good levels clashed throughout the weekend on both ice rinks.
230 players and as many supporters made the stands vibrate to the sound of their encouragement, drums and sirens.
Some teams, already seduced last year came back in battle: The Bulldogs of Liège Belgium, HC Strelci Prague Czech Republic, Harringey Hounds England.
Others came to discover the site and exceptional equipment of the Kockelsheuer: The Dragons of Rouen France, Dutch Steelhawks Netherlands, HYC Herentals Belgium.
A team of 30 volunteers has been mobilized all weekend so that each player and supporter will make this tournament an unforgettable moment.
The competition was tough but it was with a smile and a promise to return in 2018 that everyone joined his club Sunday in the late afternoon after the Trophies Ceremony where all received the honors.
Medals and trophies were given to the players under the applause of the public. A special award from the most valuable player was awarded to Morgan Lenehan of the U11 team of Harringey Hounds England and Simek Jakub player of the U13 team of HC Strelci, Czech Republic.
Although all Huskies Luxembourg team did not take the lead, the young Huskies admired the game of their opponents and redoubled energy and ambition for next season, hoping to make homage to their elders of the the Tornados national team.

Le tournoi International de Hockey sur glace U11&U13 s’est tenu ce samedi 29 et dimanche 30 avril à la patinoire de la Kockelsheuer sous un soleil éclatant, une ambiance conviviale et sportive. Douze équipes de très bon niveau se sont affrontées durant tout le week-end sur les deux patinoires.
230 joueurs et autant de supporters ont fait vibrer les tribunes au son de leurs encouragements, tambours et sirènes.
Certaines équipes , déjà séduites l’an passée sont revenues en découdre: Les Bulldogs de Liège Belgique, HC Strelci Prague République Tchèque, Harringey Hounds Angleterre.
D’autres sont venues découvrir le site et l’équipement exceptionnel de la Kockelsheuer: Les Dragons de Rouen France, Dutch Steelhawks Pays Bas, HYC Herentals Belgique.
Une équipe de 30 bénévoles s’est mobilisée tout le week-end pour que chaque joueur et supporter fasse de ce tournoi un moment inoubliable.
La compétition fut rude, mais c’est avec le sourire et la promesse de revenir en 2018 que chacun à rejoint son club dimanche en fin d’après midi après la Cérémonie des Trophées où tous ont reçu les honneurs.
Médailles et trophées ont été remis aux joueurs sous les applaudissements du public. Une récompense spéciale du plus méritant joueur à été remis à Morgan Lenettan de l’équipe U11 des Harringey Hounds Angleterre et Simek Jakub joueur de l’équipe U13 des HC Strelci, République Tchèque.
Bien que toutes les équipes des Huskies Luxembourg ne se soient pas placées en tête, les jeunes Huskies ont admiré le jeu de leurs adversaires et redoublent d’énergie et d’ambition pour la saison prochaine, espérant ainsi rendre homage à leurs ainés de l’équipe nationale les Tornados.
